Following a contentious delay last week, the Nebraska Board of Education gave unanimous approval on Tuesday to Identity Prep Academy, a new all-girls middle school slated for North Omaha. The decision came after board members reviewed revised plans for the school, which had been temporarily stalled over questions about its single-sex admissions policy and how it would serve students with disabilities.

The school, which will open for sixth and seventh graders this fall, is designed to offer a leadership-focused curriculum in a supportive environment for girls.
