Ambitious young people are often told that a college degree is essential for launching a successful career. For me—a long-term inmate pursuing education from my prison cell—higher education transcends mere job prospects. It has become a powerful tool for personal transformation, allowing me to reclaim my identity and humanity in an environment that often strips individuals of their self-worth.

As I engaged with diverse subjects, I began to see the world through a different lens, recognizing the importance of resilience and hope. This journey of education has not only enriched my mind but has also laid the groundwork for a future filled with possibilities, proving that even in the darkest of places, the light of knowledge can shine brightly.
