Holiday Bear Is Back—Sponsor a Child in Need

Holiday Bear Is Back—Sponsor a Child in Need

Educators, community members, businesses, and organizations are being called on to take part in the annual Holiday Bear Project, a long running effort that delivers gifts to children during the holiday season. This year, close to 900 students are waiting for that holiday joy, a number that highlights just how much the program matters to families across the area.

The project works by connecting sponsors with individual children, allowing each donor to purchase gifts that match a child's specific wishes. Sponsors receive details about the child they are supporting, which helps ensure the presents are both useful and meaningful. For many of these students, the gifts they receive through the program may be the only ones they open during the holidays.

Organizers say the need has grown steadily, and they are urging the community to step forward early so every child can be matched before the season arrives. Participation is open to anyone willing to help, whether that means sponsoring a single child, teaming up with coworkers to cover several, or making a contribution that supports the effort as a whole.

Those interested in joining the Holiday Bear Project can reach out to the program's coordinators to learn how to get involved. With nearly 900 students hoping for a brighter holiday, every sponsor makes a difference.
