Trenton, NJ - San Francisco 49ers safety Ji'Ayir Brown returned to his hometown this weekend to host a youth football clinic alongside the nonprofit Education Outweighs Them All (EOTA). The event took place at Trenton High School, drawing dozens of young athletes eager to learn from a local success story.
Brown, a Trenton native who played college ball at Penn State before being drafted in 2023, spent the afternoon running drills and sharing advice with kids aged 8 to 14. The clinic focused on basic football fundamentals like footwork, tackling technique, and route running, but Brown emphasized that the day was about more than just sports.
"This is about showing these kids that football can open doors, but education is what keeps them open," Brown said during a break in the action. He stressed that EOTA's mission aligns with his own belief that academic success comes first. The nonprofit, founded by former college athletes, provides mentorship and resources to help students balance school and sports.
Parents watched from the bleachers as their children high-fived Brown and posed for photos. One father said his son had been talking about the clinic all week. "It means a lot to see someone from here make it and come back," he said.
The event wrapped up with a Q&A session where Brown answered questions about his journey from Trenton High to the NFL. He told the kids to stay focused, avoid distractions, and never let anyone tell them their dreams are too big. Organizers said they hope to make the clinic an annual tradition.
