For the second consecutive year, students in Asia Pavicich’s Essential Skills class at Miramonte High School in Orinda have taken the initiative to bake and sell dog treats, branded as “Matadogs.” This entrepreneurial project not only aims to provide delicious snacks for dogs but also serves as a powerful educational tool, imparting essential life skills to the students involved.
The students engage in various aspects of running a business, from recipe development to marketing and sales. This hands-on experience teaches them valuable lessons in teamwork, responsibility, and financial literacy. Each batch of Matadogs is crafted with care, allowing the students to take pride in their work and understand the importance of quality and customer satisfaction.
The project has garnered positive feedback from the community, with many dog owners eager to support the students' efforts. Beyond the tasty treats, this initiative fosters a sense of accomplishment and boosts the students' confidence as they learn to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship.
