NCMC begins presidential search, names Hooyman interim president

TRENTON, Mo. - North Central Missouri College has officially started the process of finding a new permanent president after Lenny Klaver left to take the top job at Missouri Western State University. The college's board of trustees announced the search during a regular meeting, confirming that a national recruitment effort is now underway.

To keep the institution running smoothly in the meantime, the board has named Dr. Janice Hooyman as interim president. Hooyman is not new to the campus or its mission. She previously served in leadership roles at NCMC, including as vice president of academic affairs, and has deep familiarity with the college's programs, faculty, and student body. Her appointment took effect immediately, and she will hold the position until a permanent replacement is selected.

The search committee will be looking for a candidate with strong administrative experience, a commitment to community college access, and the ability to build on the momentum Klaver created during his tenure. Under Klaver's leadership, NCMC expanded several workforce training programs and strengthened partnerships with local school districts and employers.
