This spring, the Helen Woodward Animal Center unveiled its new Sharron Lee MacDonald Humane Education Campus, honoring philanthropist Sharron Lee MacDonald from Rancho Santa Fe. The state-of-the-art facility, which represents a significant investment of $7.5 million, is designed to provide engaging and educational experiences for children and families in the community.
The campus aims to foster a deeper understanding of animal welfare and the importance of humane treatment. Through interactive programs, workshops, and hands-on activities, children will learn about responsible pet ownership, the significance of compassion towards animals, and the role they can play in promoting animal welfare.
This initiative reflects the center's ongoing commitment to educating the next generation about the responsibilities that come with pet ownership and the importance of kindness towards all living beings. The opening of the Sharron Lee MacDonald Humane Education Campus marks an exciting new chapter for the center and its mission to inspire compassion in young minds.
