Oyster Bay Harbor Cleanup & Marine Education Day Coming to Theodore Roosevelt Park

Residents are invited to roll up their sleeves for a hands-on environmental adventure at the upcoming Oyster Bay Harbor Spring Cleanup and Marine Education Day. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th, with a rain date of May 2nd, at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park.

This annual initiative combines direct action with learning, offering volunteers the chance to remove debris from the shoreline while discovering more about the local marine ecosystem. The cleanup is an excellent volunteer opportunity for students and families looking to contribute positively to their community's natural environment. Participants will help protect wildlife and improve water quality in the historic harbor.

Alongside the cleanup efforts, the Marine Education Day component will feature engaging displays and information stations. Experts will be on hand to discuss the importance of coastal habitats, the species that call them home, and how everyday actions impact the health of the bay. The goal is to foster a deeper, lasting connection between the community and its invaluable waterfront. Organizers emphasize that all necessary supplies for the cleanup will be provided to volunteers.
