My name is Elaina Robison, a senior at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, where I am pursuing a major in marketing and a minor in communications. As the president of the Associated Students of EOU, I feel compelled to speak on an issue that resonates deeply with me and countless others across our state: the critical need for accessible and affordable higher education in Oregon.
Higher education serves as a cornerstone for personal and professional growth, not only for individuals but also for the broader community. It equips students with essential skills and knowledge, fostering innovation and economic development. However, many Oregonians face significant barriers in accessing these opportunities due to rising tuition costs and limited resources.
Investing in higher education is not merely an academic concern; it is a vital strategy for securing a prosperous future for our state. By prioritizing affordable education, we can empower a diverse range of students, ensuring that everyone has the chance to contribute to Oregon's growth and success.
