The Public Education Foundation to Raise Funds to Change the Lives of Local Students at the Hispanic and Latino Legacy Dinner

October 3, 2026 - 02:29

The Public Education Foundation will mark Hispanic Heritage Month with its fourth annual Hispanic and Latino Legacy Dinner on October 2, 2026. The event aims to raise money that directly changes the lives of local students.

Tony Sanchez, who serves as board chair for the foundation, will host the evening. As executive vice president, Sanchez has been a steady force behind the dinner since it began. The gathering brings together community members, business leaders, and educators who share a common goal of expanding opportunity for young people in the region.

Funds raised during the dinner go toward programs that help students access resources, mentorship, and pathways to higher education. Organizers say the need remains high, and every dollar collected stays local.

The Hispanic and Latino Legacy Dinner has grown each year since its debut. What started as a small gathering now draws hundreds of supporters. The evening typically includes student speakers who share how the foundation's work has shaped their academic journeys.

Those interested in attending or contributing can reach out to the foundation directly. The event stands as one of several efforts tied to Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize contributions and invest in the next generation.
