UAM School of Education announces Clinical Interns of the Year

The School of Education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello has announced its 2025-2026 Clinical Interns of the Year. The two honorees are Olivia Justice and Hannah Billings, as confirmed in a recent university announcement.

Justice, a resident of Monticello, received her award on April 9. She is a senior majoring in K-6 elementary education at UAM and currently holds an Aspiring Teacher's designation. Billings, the second recipient, was also recognized for her work in the classroom. Both students were selected based on their performance during their clinical internships, which place them in real school settings under the guidance of experienced mentor teachers.

The Clinical Intern of the Year award highlights students who show exceptional teaching skills, professionalism, and a strong commitment to student learning. Faculty members and supervising teachers evaluate candidates on their lesson planning, classroom management, and ability to connect with students. The School of Education uses this recognition to celebrate future educators who are ready to lead their own classrooms after graduation.

Justice and Billings will be formally honored at a ceremony later this spring alongside other top students from the university's academic programs.
