WHEELING — Ohio County Schools bid farewell to nearly 400 years of collective service in a heartfelt ceremony on Monday night. The Board of Education gathered to honor 15 retiring employees who have made significant contributions to the district, either during or at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year.
Among the retirees were Gail Adams, who dedicated 21 years to the education sector, and Dorothy “Dottie” Boyd, who served an impressive 37.5 years. The event was a poignant reminder of the lasting impact these educators have had on countless students and the community at large.
As each retiree was recognized, their unique stories and achievements were shared, highlighting their commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. The ceremony not only celebrated their past contributions but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
